The Aikido Kanji Quiz is an addictively fun game that tests memory and reaction time. Designed and developed by ShmoopySoft, the app helps beginner students of the Japanese martial art of Aikido study important kanji, or characters, used in Aikido training.
With 4 levels of difficulty and over 70 kanji to master, the Aikido Kanji Quiz will push your knowledge of essential Aikido terms and concepts to the limit as the clock counts down!
What are Kanji?
Kanji, one of the three scripts used in the Japanese language, are Chinese characters first introduced to Japan in the 5th century. Kanji are ideograms, i.e. each character has its own meaning and corresponds to a word. By combining characters, more words can be created, for example, the combination of "electricity" with "car" means "train".
